Experience the Toboggan Run in Oslo

posted 20th April 2023
During the winter, Oslo has one of the best toboggan runs which was once a bob sledge/toboggan track during the 1952 winter Olympics. With just a short 25 minute ride on the metro, from the hustle and bustle of the city, it takes you up into the snowy mountains.
The metro goes straight from the city into mountains where you disembark at the Korketrekkeren which is in the Helmonkolon area. From there we collected a sledge with a helmet and jointed the toboggan run. Toboggan Run
It is the most popular toboggan run in Oslo at 2KM long. The tobogganing track runs between Frognerseteren and Midtstuen and is operated as a public venue by the municipality. You start at the top of the run and once you finish you end back down at Midstuen metro station which will bring you back to the top. We had the most amazing day up there it was so much fun (I would highly recommend ski goggles as you do pick up quite a speed!)

For those that are brave enough you could also visit the the main tourist attraction, which is just a few stops down on the metro, which is the famous Holmenkollen Ski Jump Arena. The jump stands 132m tall, and those looking for a real rush can do a zipline from the jump tower.
