Hemsedal - A beautiful ski trip

The Hemsedal Ski Resort is an absolutely amazing experience! It is located in a stunningly beautiful part of Norway, with breath-taking views of the mountains and valleys all around.The ski slopes at Hemsedal are fantastic, with a wide range of runs to suit all skill levels, from gentle beginner slopes to challenging black diamond runs. The snow conditions were perfect during our visit, with plenty of fresh powder to enjoy. One thing that stood out was how good the Norwegian ski instructors were, most of them ski from a very young age so have been skiing all their lives. My daughter was skiing the black runs by the end of the week... I personally stuck to the blue!
At the bottom of the slopes we found the most perfect lunch spot called Lodgen Spiseri. It is everything you would dream of when thinking of a Norwegian ski lodge, with open fires and the warm cinnamon smell which floats throughout the building welcoming you in. They serve food from morning till evening, with all sorts of choice on the menu and of course, an abundance of warm drinks. Their speciality being the magical fully loaded hot chocolates! It was the perfect place to warm up mid skiing.
During our trip to Hemsedal we stayed at Skarsnuten Hotel. It was such a treat and a wonderful experience to be in the mountains, overlooking the whole ski resort. The hotel is stunning, with breath-taking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We stayed in the superior suite of the hotel, with panoramic windows overlooking both Hemsedal and the ski resort. Its a place to sit in amazement and watch the snow for hours. One of the other features of the hotel was the bath which sat by a large window which also overlooked the mountains and the slopes. After a full day skiing getting into the warm bath watching the snow was magical.
The spa in the hotel is tranquil and as with every part of this hotel also has spectacular views of the mountains. The facilities are beautiful, with a sauna, steam room, and outdoor jacuzzi, as well as a range of spa treatments to choose from. I left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to take on the world! Sitting in the outdoor jacuzzi when its minus 18 outside was quite a special experience.
The hotel is a ski in, ski out hotel, which meant we could ski right from the top of the mountain where our hotel sat, down the blue slopes and through the fun ski which consisted of fun jumps, leading right to the main ski centre. Overall, I cannot recommend Skarsnuten Hotel highly enough. If you're looking for a luxurious, peaceful and rejuvenating getaway in the heart of the Norwegian mountains, this is the place for you. The staff, facilities, and location are all truly exceptional, and I can't wait to return again soon!
Overall, I cannot recommend Hemsedal Ski Resort highly enough. If you're looking for a world-class ski destination with breathtaking scenery, fantastic runs, and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, this is the place for you. I can not wait to return next year!
